This is another of my favorite winter shooting opportunities. This year Tom, Rick and Barbara accepted the challenge. Seeing these photos made me smile!
Once again I realize how wonderful the blue hour can be. If you are drawn to visiting the Temple I recommend going early enough to explore all of the grounds, including the inside where there are incredibly decorated Christmas trees and scenes (none shown here). Capture the water scenes during the blue hour. Use a tripod and longer shutter speeds. Be patient with people in the scene. Once the blue hour is over go inside for the inside shots. Then go to dinner with friends. The Temple is very, very photographer friendly. If you are not Mormon, no worries, as there is no difference in the way you are treated other than you cannot go inside the Temple itself. The grounds and the visitor center are open to all.
